You will not be subscribing to You Tube at this point but are just taken to our Video Channel. We now have some new cameras including a GoPro H3 Black and an Ariel Filming Platform is on its way. Ali just has to find a bit of talent now and the videos should improve. As of 2013 we will be solely using music that enables our videos to be viewed anywhere so check back regularly or better still, subscribe to our Channel. |

| Zipline Stoderzinken
In dieser Dimension gibt es so etwas in Europa noch nicht! Ab kommenden Winter startet die größte „ZipLine“ Europas am Stoderzinken. Von 1.600m Seehöhe bis zum Abenteuerpark Gröbming auf 900m fliegt die neue Fluglinie.
Über 2 Sektionen mit einer Länge von 1500m und 1000m auf 4 parallelen Stahlseilen gleitet man seinen Freunden mit einer Geschwindigkeit bis zu 65 km/h über das Tal. Es bleibt Zeit genug, die Natur aus einer neuen Perspektive zu genießen. Abheben und das neueste und spannendste Tourismusangebot unserer Region erleben.

It has been a very busy winter season so far. Very cold snowy weather at the beginning of December gave way to some milder weather over Christmas & New Year with wet snow. The cold weather returned at the beginning of January and along with it good snow and skiing conditions. The Alpine World Championships were held in February and were a great success with some good results for the home team.
Both the Alpine Piste and Cross Country Loipe Trails are currently in very good condition. The Alpine Ski Season will continue to at least the week after Easter and the Cross Country for as long as The Loipe holds up.
Ramsau Am Dachstein has something to offer everyone at any time of the year. Whether it is winter sports, hiking, walking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, paragliding, car or motorcycle touring or just sightseeing and taking in the healthy air it has some of the best facilities to be found in The Alps. Combined with historically good weather it is a superb place to visit. Many events are held in our area and which are often free of charge including Winter Snow Festivals, Syncro Ski Championships, Fruhlingsfest, Ennstall - Classic, Planai Clasic, Snow Speed Hill, The Night Race, Race The Dachstein or traditional festivals and events. For the real thrill seeker we have a new attraction in the area. Billed as Europe’s longest Zip Wire Ride, up to 4 separate wires run side by side over 2.5km from 1650m down to 900m from Stoderzinken, just a 15 minute drive away. Locally we have the downhill Mountain Go Karts and The Rittisberg Roller Coaster, canoeing, white water rafting, paragliding, and much, much more.
Pension Haus Maria continues to be a Summer Card Partner for 2013. The Summer Card gives free access to over 100 sights and attractions and discounts on many more. Free access includes local Lifts and Cable Cars, Toll Roads, Bathing Lakes and Swimming Pools. In 2012 the normal cost to use The Dachstein Toll Road, Cable Car and Glacier was €31,50 per person. It is free with The Summer Card. Stay on a Saturday or Sunday and do a free Paragliding Taster Course where you are certain to get airborne. There are also discounts on Tandem Paraglider Flights.

| Although we are still in the Skiing Season with excellent conditions on both the Alpine Piste and Cross Country Trails, the signs of Spring are beginning to show. Clear blue skies and hot sunshine during the day are giving Ali itchy feet to put the bikes back on the road already. The cold nights are a reminder that it will be another few weeks yet.
Both The Grossglockner and Nockalmstrasse are scheduled to open at the beginning of May as they did last year and much earlier than the high passes in The Tirol and Sud Tirol which historically open at the end of May.
Gerlos, The Rossfeld Panoramastrasse at Berchtesgaden and the Villach Alpine Road are open all year but they are all subject to local weather conditions. The Solk Pass usually opens late May and Post Alm is open all year round because it is a ski area but conditions at the time will dictate its suitability for motorcycles. Everywhere else is perfect for motorcycling but can get snowfall. Usually it is gone within 24 hours and there are plenty of roads at lower altitudes unaffected.
Hardy Bikers are already appearing and the sound of a motorcycle is starting to become common. If you are planning an early season visit to Europe or particularly the Alps, then we are the place for you. We love May because the Tourists tend to be absent in numbers and the roads are there to enjoy. It is a particularly good month to do The Grossglockner, weather permitting, as traffic is negligible. Just be aware that at this time of year it is not just a case of clearing the snow, the mountain sides have to be cleared of debris that is likely to fall on the roads and you may have to stop and wait a few minutes during this process.
For 2013 we are offering guests at Pension Haus Maria who stay 7 nights or more the opportunity to have an away night (at their own expense) and keep their room here at no charge where they can leave any excess baggage. A particularly good overnight trip is down to The Predil Pass and Mangart with an overnight stop in that area. Ali intends to prepare a route in the early season and find a good overnight stop over. He has yet to decide on when to do this so if you would particularly like to do this yourself in May or early June and would like his company, let us know. One obvious benefit is that you can blame him for getting lost. This involves Austria, Italy and Slovenia. Another obvious choice would be Vienna.
For those planning trips further afield, we are just a couple of hours from The Czech Republic, Slovenia and Italy and Vienna is less than 3 hours away. Going down to Croatia? You can be on the beach in a little over 4 hours.
This will be our third summer season and it is already shaping up to be the best yet with many reservations already taken. As ever, Ali is always eager to do a guided tour once a week free of charge but for additional tours he will have to charge to help cover his expenses. While he is happy spending our income hooning about the mountains, we do have to make a living. If you make an advanced booking and would like a free guided tour please let us know so that we can pick the best day to accommodate as many as we can.
For those that like to do a bit of the local sightseeing there is no doubt that Ramsau Am Dachstein has some of the best weather, most beautiful scenery and fantastic facilities that you can find anywhere in The Alps. We remain a Summer Card Partner and all of our guests receive The Summer Card included in the cost of their stay. The Summer Card gives free access to over 100 local sights and attractions and discounts on many more. The Dachstein Toll Road, Cable Car and Glacier, a trip not to miss, cost €31,50 per person last year. Bikers don''''t want to get their biking gear on to go for an evening meal or drink. Subject to availability we will take you by mini bus to local bars and restaurants and provided it is a reasonable hour, bring you back again. For those that have had a full meal during the day, we can do a simple snack subject to notice. Our Bar has a good selection of wines, local beers and spirits.
Keep a note of our contact details for emergencies. While we cannot offer free accommodation, we can offer free use of our Biker Garage, Tools and Internet to get you out of a fix. Our Mini Bus and Ramp can recover a rolling motorcycle provided it isn’t leaking fluids. There is a good motorcycle mechanic nearby and main dealers slightly further afield.
